A small journal for a slow, beautiful home.

We started The Nestiora in 2019 because most home and garden advice online was written by someone who had clearly never done the thing they were writing about. So we wrote our own — slowly, in our actual homes, on our actual budgets.

What we believe

Three promises, kept in public.

Clear disclosureAffiliate links are disclosed in the article that carries them, and every recommendation is edited for usefulness before anything else.
Slow before fastWe would rather publish one practical, edited guide than three thin round-ups written from a catalogue.
Real homes, real budgetsWe design for the room you actually live in, at the budget you actually have — not the one a stylist staged for a photograph.

The team

Four editors and makers. One quiet table.

The record

2019

A newsletter, in pyjamas

Started as a Sunday-morning email between three friends swapping photographs of their own rooms.

2021

The journal becomes a journal

We bought the domain and committed to writing only what we had done ourselves, in our own homes.

2023

Three corners, one home

Gardening joined decor and DIY, each written by someone who lives that part of the house.

2026

Rebuilt from the ground up

A slower, quieter redesign — the way a home feels when nobody is watching.

How it works

Nothing here is written from a catalogue.

How we write and update guides

Every guide starts with a real problem in a real room, a clear outcome for the reader, and an editor check for accuracy before it goes out.

Our Review Boards

Structural carpentry, electrical wiring, and plant care guides are vetted and fact-checked by licensed engineers, master electricians, and certified botanists.

How the money works

Some guides carry affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing else changes.

What earns a recommendation

Ordinary budgets, materials you can actually buy, and advice that still holds up long after the first pretty photograph.

A beautiful home does not need a designer or a big budget. It needs intention, a little effort, and honest information.
