The Nestiora is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Our commitment

We believe that the web should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards across our website.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Nestiora strives to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are actively working to increase the accessibility of our site to ensure it is inclusive for all users.

Accessible features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Use Tab to navigate, Enter to activate links and buttons, and Escape to close overlays.
  • Skip to content: A "Skip to content" link is available for screen reader and keyboard users to bypass navigation and jump to main content.
  • Semantic HTML: We use semantic HTML elements (headings, landmarks, lists, navigation) to provide proper document structure.
  • Alt text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with aria-hidden="true".
  • Color contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios throughout our design system to ensure text is readable.
  • Focus indicators: All interactive elements have visible focus indicators for keyboard users.
  • Reduced motion: Our animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Users who prefer reduced motion will see minimal or no animations.
  • Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels for screen reader accessibility.

Known limitations

While we strive to ensure accessibility across our site, there are some areas where we are still working to improve:

  • Embedded content: Third-party embedded content (such as YouTube videos or Pinterest widgets) may not fully conform to WCAG standards. We cannot control the accessibility of these external services.
  • Archived content: Some older articles may not have been fully optimized for accessibility. We are working to update these over time.
